Leyla Gencer was born on Oct.10, 1928. One of the great ladies of opera, the "Queen of the Pirates." She and Shirley Verrett burn up the stage. The audience loves "PIE!" This Maria Stuarda Confrontation Scene is amazing!!!!!!!!!

How low can you get?? This guy is just amazing! If you are a serious collector, you can go to a site called: www//78 heaven where you will find rare material,such as this. The narrator is a bit on the "countertenor" side.

When I did a mini-class for Dolora's students, I asked her how she felt singing this glorious music. She replied, "I am interested in getting the notes out!!" We take so much for granted..they SUFFER for us!!!!
