I would bet you never attended a Tannhauser for the LANDGRAVE!!! Well, even if Melchior and Flagstad were in the cast, you would still thrill to the rich and absolutely superb voice of basso Gunther Groissbock. This man recalled to me the likes of Weber,Kipnis,Moll,Pape,Nissen,Frick, and all the wonderful bassos I have heard live or on recordings. I urge you to check out more of his singing on Youtube. Remember, I saw the creator of Hagen!!!
